Rich' Birthday Cake

What you are going to need....

1/2cup shortening 2 ounces red food coloring 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 1/2 cups plus 1 tablespoon flour 2 eggs 1 cup buttermilk 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 teaspoon soda

Cooking Information:

Cake...
Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and beat well add
food coloring sift flour and salt together and add alternately
with buttermilk and vanilla. Beat well Mix vinegar and soda
together and blend into batter. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 in
two 8 inch pans.

Frosting...
3 tablespoon flour 1 cup milk 1cup sugar 1 cup butter 1 teaspoon
Cook flour and milk until thick. Cool Cream sugar butter and vanilla
together Add the cooked ingredients and beat until like whipped cream.
